Setting goals and then reaching them can be a daunting task, especially when you set your sights high. Goals can appear almost unreachable and we often get discouraged when we don’t see the progress we want right away. The best way to achieve your goals is to create a plan; a dream without a plan is still a dream, a wish that is unlikely to happen. How do you create a proper marketing plan to launch a new service, a new business or a new product? You know all the things you want to do and you want to accomplish, so how do you get there? Well, let’s make a plan around it because then you can create the steps leading up to that plan and that is going to be really helpful to accomplish goals. We at Two Four One Branding use a few helpful steps to create and work towards our goals that we can share with you.
The first step is to take stock of your past year and list all of your accomplishments. You might be surprised at how much you achieved! We take it in stride but...
You've heard people called a thought leader. But have you ever considered that you might be one?
A thought leader is a subject matter expert who generously shares their unique ideas and their viewpoint in their particular niche. You don't need to have an original concept, but the way you share it is unique and it helps your audience understand because they haven't heard it explained that way before.
As entrepreneurs, we create new things all the time, while often they're updated versions of an older idea.
To simplify it, thought leadership is a Content Marketing strategy, and you can use it to build your business over time. It’s the person behind the brand that matters—people connect with other people, not nameless businesses. Thought leadership includes personal brand building through an ongoing process of educating and building trust with your audience by sharing high quality content. It has to be researched, it has to be understood via a different perspective and it...
If you've been following Level-Up Your Marketing with Vicki and Laura, that you'll know that we don't spend much time on doom and gloom. So why are we talking about what could go wrong? Well, we believe in being prepared. You need to have a strategy so that you know what you'll do when you need it. It's like having a fire escape in your building. You don't build it after the smoke alarm is already sounding.
In business, we've always got to be moving forward and keep going on our path. However, it is inevitable that occasionally things will happen that are out of our control. Like social media trolls, for instance. We don’t like them but we can’t avoid them — some people are just hard wired for negativity and enjoy stirring the pot. Our advice? Ignore them, delete them, block them and move on. If something needs to be publicly corrected because it was factually wrong, then by all means respond to that, but keep all emotion out of it. If they are trying to stir...
You're sitting on a great business idea, but you don't want to tell anyone in case they run off and do it themselves. It’s a very real concern of many entrepreneurs and start-ups. Well, we encourage you to think again, to take your chances and share your idea with someone who could really help you get that puppy off the ground!
It’s our view that great success comes from collaboration and our story is testament that there is power in collaboration.
First things first, our international virtual marketing agency is called Two Four One for a reason. Two of us, Vicki and Laura x 2 = Four. We figured that by working together we each doubled our impact, creativity and effectiveness; that’s what collaboration does. Far more powerful than two people working independently. We have shared values and shared goals, a common target of a brilliant outcome for our clients, One at a time.
Anyhoo, enough about us! Just suffice to say, a team is stronger than individuals.
If you're launching a new business we suspect you’ve been thinking about this and testing different aspects of your business idea for months—if not years. It’s your baby and you want the very best for her. You’ve defended the business plan to financiers, you’ve spent countless hours researching and preparing and you’re ready to launch.
So what’s your plan?
If you’re anything like the startups we’ve helped, you probably have visions of your logo on a corporate fleet, on billboards or splashed all over social media. You’re designing your corporate t-shirts and deciding which gadgets you want to brand as giveaways. Maybe you’re inviting friends to a launch party.
Stick with us, we want you to hear (read) this first. Your launch plan is just as important as your operating plan and it must be adequately funded. Consider these 3 things for a fail-proof business launch.
1. DEVELOP YOUR BRAND
First impressions count. If you...
How are you doing with yours so far? What about resolutions for where you want your business to be this time next year? Did you set yourself business goals and do you know exactly how you’ll achieve them?
Two Four One recently facilitated a workshop for small business and organisational leaders to help them set up their plan for the year. It’s all about getting clear on where you are now in your business and where you want to be at the end of the quarter, the year, five years. Then you reverse engineer your way to success with these 7 steps!
You have a logo. Maybe it was designed 5 years ago or maybe it was designed just a few weeks ago. Regardless, you hate it.
But you aren’t quite sure why you hate it. (I know why!)
I imagine the conversation between you and your graphic designer went something like this:
Graphic designer: “Hey, how can I help?”
You: “I need a logo ASAP! I want it to be serious but not stuffy, I kinda like the colour purple and here's the name of my business…”
Graphic designer:” Cool. I can work with that. Ummm... Give me a couple of weeks.”
A couple of weeks go by. Finally, the graphic designer delivers you six well-designed but wildly different logos to choose from. Immediately “analysis paralysis” kicks in and you start to lose sleep trying to decide between them all… weeks have already gone by, your business is ready to be marketed and you're at urgency stage. (Sounding familiar yet?)
Reluctantly (and without any clear reason...
